JURGEN KLOPP has confirmed Mohamed Salah is fit to face Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday after recovering from an ankle injury.
Salah could’ve been re-introduced back in to action during yesterday’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
But Klopp has given the Egyptian more rest as he looks to secure top spot in Group E against the Italian side in midweek.
Speaking after Roberto Fimino grabbed a late winner, Klopp said: “Mo is all good. He couldn’t train for nine days.
“He was with Egypt, went home, trained 60-70 per cent the day before yesterday, and was first time 100 per cent yesterday.
“We had to make the decision whether to start him or not. We didn’t start him, we were about to bring him on when we scored the winner.
“So we could rest him today. That’s really good. Wednesday he will be back.”
Salah was on the receiving end of a late challenge by Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury and sat out of the international break last week.
The Pharaohs forward was not needed as Klopp’s side squeezed past Roy Hodgson’s men.
Liverpool were once again handed a favourable VAR decision after James Tomkins thought he had given Palace the lead just before half time.
The video officials ruled that Jordan Ayew had fouled Dejan Lovren off the ball.
Sadio Mane had put the visitors in front just after the break before Wilfried Zaha grabbed a leveller with less that 10 minutes remaining.
It wasn’t to be for Palace as Firmino bundled in a late winner to maintain their eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
